01Context
Why the problem mattered.
Cloud expenditure had become a material business concern across environments serving active products and customers. Reports could show where money was being spent, but the useful decisions sat deeper in architecture, capacity, workload behaviour and ownership.
The work crossed engineering, finance and leadership. It required a shared view of the facts, practical interventions that teams could act on and executive support for changes that affected both reliability and cost.
02Challenge
The constraints behind the visible problem.
Kubernetes capacity and utilization, rightsizing, reservations and other commercial commitments could not be assessed independently. Incomplete migrations, workload patterns and application design all affected whether an apparent saving was technically safe or financially durable.
A one-time reduction would not solve the operating problem. Teams needed a repeatable way to identify cost drivers, assign action, evaluate trade-offs and keep accountability visible after the immediate initiative ended.

What changed.
The programme delivered material cloud savings while improving the quality of the decisions behind them. Exact figures are withheld from the website pending explicit publication approval.
More importantly, the work moved the conversation from retrospective reporting toward sustained operating practice: clearer ownership, better prioritization and stronger links between technical consumption and business outcomes.
